Lines of Research

1) Integrated Center for Neuro-orthopedics (CINO): Cerebral Palsy; 2) Pediatric Orthopedics: Legg-Calvé-Perthes Disease; 3) Congenital Clubfoot; 4) Physical activity in children and adolescents with disabilities

1) The Integrated Center for Academic Activity of Neuro-Orthopedics HCFMUSP (INTEGRATED CENTER OF NEURO-ORTHOPEDICS HCFMUSP) was designed to develop research and teaching aimed at patients with neurological disorders who present with musculoskeletal deformities who are in integrated care in the outpatient clinic for surgical orthopedic cases.

2) The Discipline of Pediatric Orthopedics has traditionally studied multiple orthopedic conditions from the newborn to the end of adolescence, in particular Legg-Calvé-Perthes Disease. We are currently participating in a multicenter study of Perthes Disease with a research center at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas.

3) The Clubfoot Clinic was established in August 2012 and performs treatment using the Ponseti technique being considered a standard refererral clinic, conducting clinical research with a prospective database.

4) Since 2013, Instituto Remo Meu Rumo provides access to sports for children with physical disabilities, generating physical and psychological gains, in addition to the social and individual impacts that sport can promote and conduct studies the effects on health, function, independence and quality of life.
