Line of Research: Regeneration in the musculoskeletal system applied to techniques of hand surgery and reconstructive microsurgery (vascularized bone transplant, inflammatory diseases, tendon injuries, peripheral nerve injuries, brachial plexus injuries, autologous and homologous tissue transplants).

Summary

I have developed my research in:

– Epidemiology in health services (Traumatic Injuries from Traffic/Electric Saw Accidents)

– Model for analysis of nervous system injuries (Brachial Plexus/Obstetric Paralysis/Tetraplegia)

– Clinical and experimental models for the functional analysis of movement (Functional Transplants for the Upper Limb)
– Degenerative inflammatory and structural disorders of the locomotor system

(Osteoarthrosis/Rheumatoid disease/Post-traumatic reconstruction of the upper and lower limbs)

The epidemiological studies are related to patients who are victims of complex trauma, as well as to the effectiveness of specific therapies proposed for acute and chronic conditions. Peripheral nerve injuries, especially brachial plexus injury, are an important theme of our research, through reconstructive therapeutic proposals and comparative studies of procedures already established in the literature. Reconstructive microsurgery is also an important area of our studies, focused on new surgical techniques for skin coverage and replantation, and the study of factors that influence the success rates of these procedures.
